Research, with context

Clear about what a simple screen can do.

The app’s design is informed by pediatric guidance. The app itself has not been clinically tested.

It offers a still display and practical controls for parents. It does not promise to calm a child, improve sleep, or make screen time beneficial.

A few things parents ask.

What does Baby Lock Screen do?

It displays a simple, silent screen that ignores ordinary taps. Parents choose one of five still appearances, save their preference, optionally lower brightness, and set a fade to black. Use Guided Access on iPhone or screen pinning on Android to restrict leaving the app.

Does it lock my entire phone?

The app alone does not lock the whole device. iPhone needs Apple Guided Access; Android needs an active screen-pinning session. Set up the system lock and practice exiting before use. The in-app exit gesture is not child-proof authentication.

Can it lock touch while YouTube or another app plays?

Baby Lock Screen displays its own screen. It does not put a touch-blocking overlay over YouTube, video calls, or other apps. iPhone Guided Access can disable touch inside another app; Android screen pinning limits navigation but does not disable that app’s touch controls.

Does fade to black turn off or unlock the phone?

No. It changes the appearance to black after your chosen delay. The phone remains on, and the fade does not end Guided Access or screen pinning. It is not a system sleep timer.

Is the app proven to reduce screen time or calm babies?

No. The app has not been clinically tested for calming, development, sleep, or reducing a child’s interest in phones. The linked research informs the design choices; it does not endorse or validate this app.

Are there ads, accounts, or analytics in the app?

The current app has no ads, accounts, or analytics SDKs. Screen preferences are saved on the device. Device backups and app-store services follow Apple’s or Google’s policies. Read the privacy policy for details.
